What I’m Doing These Days
Currently in my 11th year at The Walt Disney Company. I am a Senior Product Manager in Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology (DEEP&T) focusing on metadata, taxonomy, and ontology systems for the digital media supply chain. Basically, I make sure all the data across all of our 200+ planning, creation, curation, and distribution systems flow to Disney+, Hulu, Star+, or Hotstar without shitting the bed.
2025 will be my “Year of Habits.” Forming new good ones, and breaking old bad ones. I’ve always been okay at maintaining both physical and mental health, but there’s room for growth. I turn 49 in January, and I want to be in the best shape of my life by the time I turn 50. I think that’s a reasonable goal for physical health.
On the mental health side, I’ve switched from a text-based chat app to video meetings for therapy. I really appreciate the immediacy of face-to-face interaction for this. I’m still trying to convince my therapist that I don’t have any buried trauma to unearth — I just want to become a better communicator.
Speaking of mental health, I’m completely off Twitter, Threads, and Instagram now. I’ve been off of Facebook for a decade now. The content moderation policies and algorithms of these companies since Trump was re-elected have turned into rage-filled horseshit, and I want nothing to do with them. I’m keeping my accounts on all of these services to reserve my username and following/followers in the hope that someday Zuck and Musk move on and a sane person takes over again. I’m on Bluesky and Mastodon, links in the sidebar!
Still enjoying my Vision Pro headset and use it semi-regularly. It’s especially great for travel. I’ve moved away from Obsidian for now and am using Notion for all notes and work stuff. Obsidian is great, but I realized I was running so many plug-ins and extensions that the “these are just plain text files” benefit of Obsidian’s Markdown format was wasted. My text files were essentially unreadable outside of the app. Notion also has the benefit of an API, so I can send data from anywhere (even my Apple Watch) without worrying about sync issues.
I also got my son a Windows laptop for schoolwork. I considered a Chromebook, but there are rumors that ChromeOS is being phased out in favor of Android, so Windows it is. Now I have to re-learn Windows after 20 years away from it.
My current home screen is very Notion-heavy.

Every app that can badge on my phone is in this folder, and the folder aggregates badge counts. This way, I never have to swipe around looking for notification badges, they’re all right there.↩︎
We use Microsoft 365, Exchange, CoPilot, and Teams for work. The M365 app keeps all this stuff in one place.↩︎
