It Begins

In the hopes that a Covid vaccine makes it possible to go out and do stuff later this year, we’re tackling our kitchen remodel. We’ve wanted to redo the kitchen since we bought our house in 2017, but the time never seemed right. We always had places to go and things to do.

Welp, we’re nearly a year into this pandemic and it looks like we’re seeing the light at the end of the tunnel finally. It’s still several months off, but we’re planning ahead. Once we can go back to the beach, or camping, or even to the park again, we’re going to be doing it as much as possible.

So, in preparation for our upcoming adventures, we’re knocking this kitchen out this winter/spring. The plan is to be done with it by the time we can be in public again without worry.

I’ll be doing most of the work myself, because I love it and I’m pretty good at it (not to brag..). It’s going to take a while because I have a full time job and a toddler, so I’ll only be working on the weekends, and will need to take a break mid-day for the boy’s nap time. I’m also trying to keep at least portions of the kitchen usable at all times, which makes things take a bit longer.

I’m usually horrible at taking pictures and documenting this stuff, so putting it on the blog may make me be better at that. Or, there will be this post, then an after shot in 2 or 3 months. We’ll find out together.

If you’re interested in following, I’ll be tagging all these posts with KitchenRemodel, and those posts will be aggregated here. It’s going to be a rough couple of months, but hey, what else have I got to do these days?
